Savage Launches Product Pro LED Light Table

Savage has a new take on the product photography tabletop setup, called the Product Pro LED Light Table. Instead of employing a tent with built-in LED stripsFotodioX LED Studio-in-a-Box, Savage designed a lighted table with four 36 LED powered lights on articulating arms. The bonus is the lighted table, which not only under lights the subject matter, but also over-exposes your image to get that bright white aesthetic.

The missing element is a backdrop. Unlike tents, with their inherent six walls, the Savage needs an included backdrop to really obtain the world-class images you desire. The company does offer an optional Product Photography Effects Kit backdrop made for this tabletop, but that will set you back another $90 bills, which is somewhat pricey considering what you’re getting.

Each rechargeable overhead LED light has a CRI of 91, and are mounted on flexible arms. The tabletop lighting is dimmable to obtain exactly the amount of under lighting required. There has been some poor feedback on the quality of the LED lights by some users online. Several cited that the lights are of “poor quality” and some arrived “defective” where the output was significantly lower than the other lights. In other instances, the lights lost their output over time. Savage, in some of the cases, sent the owners replacements. We haven’t tested the Product Pro LED Light Table, so it’s hard to determine the quality of results, but we like the concept.
