DJI has released the Osmo Pocket, the smallest 3-axis stabilized handheld camera available on the market. At 4.8″ tall and weighing 0.25 lb, the Pocket includes a 1/2.3-inch sensor, 80-degree FOV, and f/2.0 aperture – the same sensor size used in the Mavic Pro, Mavic Air, and Mavic 2 Zoom. It can shoot stabilized 4K video at up to 60 fps and will capture 12MP stills.
DJI Osmo Pocket Features:
» Gimbal Camera with 1/2.3″ CMOS Sensor
» Compact 4.1 oz, 4.8″ High Design
» Up to 4K Video at 60 fps, up to100 Mb/s
» 12MP JPEG or DNG RAW Still Photos
» Handle with Retractable Extension
» Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Monitoring & Control
» POV, ActiveTrack & FaceTrack Modes
» Standard Time-Lapse & Motionlapse
» NightShot & 3 x 3 Panorama Modes
The Osmo Pocket packs quite a few sweet features into its slender sillouette, including ActiveTrack and Motionlapse modes. ActiveTrack allows you to select a target for the Osmo Pocket to track and record and Motionlapse is DJI’s name for its time lapse video feature. The Pocket also includes additional photo functions for its 12MP camera, such as Panorama, FPV, and NightShot—each mode aimed at giving users a unique way to capture the moment. These features can be accessed using the new DJI Mimo app, which was designed to give DJI Osmo Pocket users an in-house editing and storytelling tool.
One obvious miss is the lack of a 1/4″ – 20 on the bottom of the Pocket. Instead, DJI chose to use the bottom access to employ a wireless base module, one of many options that will launch at a later time.
DJI’s Osmo Pocket is available now for $349.
