Sometimes I Feel So Deserted

“Ninian Doff is a robot built by the military as an advanced ruthless killing machine. He is considered the greatest military failure in history.”

When the Chemical Brothers needed a music video for “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted”, the new single from their Born In The Echoes double album, they turned to Doff, who conveyed just what it feels like to be a robot into this captivating tale…

Produced by Pulse Films, “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted” by the Chemical Brothers stars Hannah John Kamen as a cyborg who has to outrun and outwit a van of unspecified evildoers. Aside from the top-notch production value, sublime Coloring by Richard Fearon and excellent cinematography by Ross Mclennan, the video stands above typical music video fare by perfectly matching the visuals to the song. An interesting feat since the track is different from the album version and demonstrates that Tom and Ed remixed their song specifically for the Doff’s vision.

Mclennan used a Red Dragon with Panavision Primo Anamorphic Lenses to shoot this post-apocalyptic thriller, where the hunted becomes the hunter. The video was shot in a flat desert in southern Spain, on the Red Dragon with Panavision Primo Anamorphic Lenses.
